Colonel Victor Andrew Lawrence Sorie – RSLAF

BACKGROUND
Colonel Victor Andrew Lawrence Sorie was born on 4 April 1966 in Mano, Dasse Chiefdom, Moyamba District. His father hailed from Mokondo Village, Dasse Chiefdom in the Moyamba District and his mother from Pelewahun- Taninahun, Bumpe-Gao Chiefdom in the Bo District. He had his Advanced Secondary School Education at the Christ the King College in Bo.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Attained Advanced Secondary School education.

MILITARY TRAINING ATTENDED
He was enlisted into the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) in 20 November 1990 and later commissioned in November 1992.
As he went through the military ranks, he successfully did several career courses:
20 July 2000 - Junior Division Emergency Command and Staff Course at GAFCS in Ghana.
05 May to 22 Aug 2003 - Special Combat Team Commanders' Course at GAFCS and Jungle Warfare School in Ghana.
31 May to 24 June 2004 - Staff Harmonisation Course at the Horton Academy in Sierra Leone.
3 to 13 April 2006 - Peace Support Operations Course at the Horton Academy in Sierra Leone.
21 May to 8 June 2007 - Military Observer Course at Ecole de Maintien de la Paix, Bamako in Mali.
12 to 23 January 2009 - United Nations Logistics Course at Karen in Kenya.
23 May to 24 June 2011 - Senior Command and Staff Course at the Horton Academy in Sierra Leone.
September 2012 to July 2013 - Command and Staff Course at Nanjing Army Command College in China.
7 to 25 August 2017 - Unit Commanders' Course at the Horton Academy in Sierra Leone.
Col Sorie has attended and participated in several seminars, workshops and conferences both at local and international levels. .

Col Sorie is married to Mrs. Edwina Mariama Sorie and blessed with two children.
