The Ministry of Defence wishes to inform all 2018/2019 female applicants for enlistment into the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) as Officer Cadets or Recruits to submit their completed application forms with all supporting documents to the Regional Recruiting Centres as shown below:

                 A.   3 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Murray Town Barracks - Freetown. This centre covers applicants from the Western Area (Rural and Urban), Kambia and Port Loko Districts.Freetown.

                 B.   4 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Teko Barracks - Makeni. This centre covers applicants from Koinadugu, Bombali, Tonkolili and Kono Districts.

                 C.    5 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, Gondama Barracks - Bo. This centre covers applicants from Bo, Bonthe, Moyamba, Pujehun, Kailahun and Kenema Districts.

The initial screening process within the Brigades will commence on . Applicants will be required to take examinations in Mathematics, English Language and General Paper to be preceded by Physical Fitness and Medical Tests.

1. Civilian Candidates for Officer Cadet

a. Applicant must be a Sierra Leonean.
b. Applicant must be between the ages of 18-29 years.
c. Applicant must be single.
d. Applicant must have credit (C6 or better) in at least 5 subjects (including English Language) in not more than two sittings at WASSCE or equivalent examination. Applicant with Degree, HTC (Secondary) or HND will have added advantage.
e. Applicant must not have been a convicted criminal.
f. Applicant must be physically and medically fit.

2. Soldier Candidates for Officer Cadet

a. A serving soldier can apply for officer cadet as long as he or she satisfies the above-mentioned conditions.
b. In addition, he or she will be given an extended age limit up to 30 years.
c. Applicant must not be over 5 years in service.

3. Candidates for Recruits

a. Applicant must be a Sierra Leonean.
b. Applicant must be between the ages of 18-29 years. Applicant with vocational skills training will be given an extended age limit up to 31 years.
c. Applicant must be single and not pregnant.
d. Applicant must have at least 2 passes at WASSCE. Preference will be given to applicants with vocational skills training.
e. Applicant must not have been a convicted criminal.
f. Applicant must be physically and medically fit.

RELEVANT DOCUMENTS

4. Interested applicants must present original and photocopies of their results, birth certificates, national ID cards or passports, Scratch Card (s) and letters of recommendation from any two (2) of the following authorities to confirm the candidate's area of origin and to serve as his/her moral guarantor: Mayors, Chairpersons District Councils, Paramount Chief, Tribal Headmen/Chiefs, Parliamentarian, Councilor and Senior Government Official. All applicants are to submit their application to the regional recruiting centre within their locations.

5. Interested applicants should be guided by the under-mentioned procedure on how to apply for recruitment.

a. Secure the recruitment application form here.

b. Diligently fill the application form making sure that the information required is correctly recorded with supporting documents attached. These supporting documents include; Birth Certificate, Academic certificates, letter of recommendation and identity card.

c. Submit completed application form with all supporting documents to a regional recruiting centre within your location.
