DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE ARMED FORCES...


Mr Abdul R.M. Fofanah
Director General of the Ministry of Defence

Born on 27th April, 1964 in Masingbi-Lol, Mapaki Chiefdom Bombali District, Northern Sierra Leone but spent all childhood life in Bo District.

Attended the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary School in Bo District, Southern Sierra Leone from 1968 – 1975, then Ahmadiya Muslim Secondary School Bo 1976 – 1977, then Government Secondary School for Boys, Magburaka 1978 – 1981. Further attended the Government Secondary School for Boys Koyeima form 1982 – 1983, then Christ the King College (CKC) 1983 – 1985. Fouray Bay College University of Sierra Leone 1988 -1992. Teacher Christ the King College (CKC) September, 1993 - May 1994

Sierra Leone civil service June 1994 to date and worked in the following ministries:

  • Ministry of Health and sanitation – assistant Secretary June, 1993-2000
  • Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Office of the President – Senior assistant Secretary 2000-2003
  • Secondment to the National HIV/AIDS Control Programme – October 2003 - February 2010 as health administrator.
  • Deputy Secretary in charge of Administration in the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security. March 2010 – March 2011
  • Deputy Secretary Ministry of Defence March 2011 – date.

    • Hobbies are Football, Reading, Agriculture and travelling.
