MAJOR GENERAL DAUDA FRED ALPHA
JOINT FORCE COMMANDER REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE ARMED FORCES...

BACKGROUND

Commander Joint Force (CJF), Major-General Dauda Fred Alpha was born on the 6 May 1968 in Grima, Pejeh Bongre Chiefdom, Kailahun District, Eastern Province. He was commissioned as an Officer of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces in 1991 at the Armed Forces Training Center (AFTC).

MILITARY APPOINTMENTS HELD
He has held several Command and Staff appointments which include; Commanding Officer of 11 and 12 Infantry Battalions, Commanding Officer of 4 and 3 Infantry Brigades and Director of Logistics and Equipment Support at Ministry of Defence. At the international theatre, he served as the Chief of Operations (COO) of Sector West in the United Nations Hybrid Mission in Dafur (UNAMID) where he excelled himself in coordinating all UN operations.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Some of his academic qualifications include MSc in Development Management from the University of Sierra Leone (USL), MA in International Affairs and Defence Studies (MIADS) from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) and BSc (Hons) in Financial Services from IPAM, University of Sierra Leone. In his quest to add to the body of knowledge, he conducted an exploratory research work titled DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND NATIONAL SECURITY IN SIERRA LEONE: AN APPRAISAL OF THE ROLE OF RSLAF. This research work is regarded as one of the best researches conducted in contemporary time especially after the mudslide in Sierra Leone that claimed so many lives.

MILITARY & CIVIL TRAINING ATTENDED
Major-General D Alpha has done all his career and staff courses. He completed the National Defence College (NDC) Course in Nigeria. Additionally, he has attended the Artillery Command and Control Course in China, Counter Terrorism and Counter-Insurgency Course in Washington DC (USA) and Defence Acquisition and Management Course in Monterey (USA).

NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
The Major-General is a proud recipient of the United Nations Hybrid Mission in Dafur (UNAMID) award and a meritorious award from the National Defence College (NDC) of Nigeria.

FAMILY STATUS

The senior officer is happily married to Mrs. Hawah Alpha and the union is blessed with 3 lovely children.

During his leisure, Major-General D Alpha enjoys reading Christian related books with keen interest in playing volleyball and watching nature.
